"Average Americans - Never Settle For Average!
I was reading an article by a
fairly prominent CEO; I won't mention names because I don't feel
comfortable naming names. The CEO kept using the phrase,
"average Americans", saying things like, "The
average American can't generate residual income." "The
average American doesn't have the ability to . . ." and
mentioned various things "average Americans" can't
do. I was bothered by the use of this phrase.
First of all, what is an
"average American"? The landscape of America is too
diverse to accurately use this phrase. I'm also not a fan of
labeling a group of people as "Average". A group
of people is made up of individuals. If an individual is
"average" then that individual has chosen to remain
"average". Instead of labeling Americans
"average" making the assumption that people cannot
better themselves seems very "Un-American" to me. We
are in the "Information Age". The ability for
"average Americans" to become something larger than
average can be found at the corner bookstore or at every
American's fingertips: the Internet. There are books, seminars
& websites available today like nothing experienced in
history. The difference between an "average American"
and an "above average American" is making a decision
to change, taking steps to make that change by gaining
knowledge, taking even more action by implementing what has been
learned. At that point an "average American" is no
longer "average". That individual has moved into an
exciting and interesting place where dreams are made: the
American dream.

You Are
Probably Not An "Average American"
Now I'm still not sure about the
phrase "average American", but if there is such a thing, then
you are probably not an "average American" as you are seeking
information to better yourself. But if you are an "average
American" and you just stumbled across this site by accident, I
have one piece of advice to share:
"Make everyday as exciting as you
possibly can! Choose to be the person you want to be tomorrow by
taking action today! And if you are not there tomorrow, take
another step and then another and then another. Celebrate small
successes along the way. Be proud of the person you are now and the
person you are becoming. And never settle for 'average'!"
You
found this site, that was step one, now take the next step!
